CEO of Discover Dominica Authority Celebrates Record-Breaking WCMF25

The 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival has officially been declared a historic success, and the CEO of the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) is praising the incredible teamwork, cultural pride, and national unity that made it all possible.

In a powerful statement reflecting on the milestone anniversary, the CEO expressed immense pride in the DDA team, partners, artists, and wider Dominican community. According to the CEO, this year's festival not only exceeded expectations — it reaffirmed Dominica as the "heart of Creole culture" and demonstrated the strong impact of culture-driven tourism.

Record Numbers Tell the Story

WCMF25 shattered multiple records, showcasing the growing influence of the festival on both tourism and the local economy:

  • Over 42,000 patrons attended the festival over three electrifying nights — a massive leap from 30,217 in 2024.

  • 10,540 visitor arrivals were recorded in the nine days leading up to the event, representing a 48% increase year-over-year and the highest pre-festival arrival numbers ever recorded.

These results translated into major economic activity across Dominica. The CEO highlighted the positive ripple effects felt by small businesses, transportation providers, hotels, vendors, restaurants, and the entertainment and creative industries. WCMF25 demonstrated — once again — that culture remains one of Dominica's most powerful economic engines.

A Festival Powered by Determination and Love for Culture

The CEO credited much of the success to the passion of Dominicans:

"From the powerful performances that lit up the stage to the dedicated teams behind the scenes, Team DDA and our partners delivered a festival to remember," the statement read.

The 25th anniversary theme, "Global Echoes of the Nature Island: Celebrating 25 Years of Creole Music, Magic, and Memories," was described as coming alive through every performance, dance, and shared moment among locals and visitors.

Leadership That Sets the Tone

The CEO extended special recognition to Hon. Minister of Tourism, Denise Charles-Pemberton, applauding her vision, leadership, and ongoing commitment to culture and tourism development.

Looking Ahead: Culture as the Path Forward

In the statement, the CEO reaffirmed the DDA's long-term strategy:

✅ Strengthening Dominica's identity as the cultural heartbeat of the Caribbean
✅ Supporting local talent and the creative sector
✅ Driving sustainable tourism growth rooted in culture and community

A National Celebration of Pride

Creole Heartbeat joins the Discover Dominica Authority in congratulating everyone who made WCMF25 possible — artists, organizers, crews, vendors, sponsors, partners, and the thousands of supporters who filled Windsor Park and the streets of Roseau with energy and pride.

The CEO's message ended with a forward-looking celebration:

"Here's to the next 25 years of Creole music, magic, and memories on the Nature Island."

WCMF25 has set a new benchmark for cultural tourism in Dominica — and the world is already listening for what comes next.
